Mariela Rurush Bayona has been officially recognised as Peru Tourism Ambassador by the Congress of the Republic of Peru in recognition of her long-term contribution to tourism, cultural custodianship, accessibility, territorial development, and internationally recognised travel systems connected to Peru and the Andes.
Born in the Andes and operating globally, Mariela Rurush has developed founder-led institutional frameworks connecting luxury travel, mobility, accessibility, conservation, and culturally significant territories across Peru, Latin America, and beyond.
The recognition ceremony took place at the Congress of the Republic of Peru in Lima on 23 February 2024, broadcast live nationwide via Congreso TV and TV Perú bringing together institutional representatives, cultural leaders, tourism authorities, and distinguished figures connected to the future of Peru’s international tourism positioning and cultural projection.
This recognition was presented by Congresswoman Lady Camones Soriano, acknowledging Mariela Rurush’s entrepreneurial trajectory, contribution to Peruvian tourism, and ongoing international work representing and positioning Peru and the Andes globally through tourism, mobility, cultural continuity, and institutional initiatives.

As Peru Tourism Ambassador, and by official invitation of PROMPERÚ — Peru’s national tourism promotion office — she has accompanied international tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, journalists, and industry leaders during institutional visits and tourism initiatives across Peru, contributing to dialogue, collaboration, and long-term relationships between Peru and global markets.
Her international representation work has also included participation in global tourism events and international industry platforms connected to Peru’s positioning as a culturally significant and globally respected destination.
Drawing on operational continuity connected to the Andes since 1975, together with studies in social entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford, Mariela Rurush continues advancing long-term institutional systems connecting conservation, accessibility, mobility, culture, and meaningful travel.
As creator of Luxury with Purpose / Lujo con Propósito, her work reframes luxury as responsibility — positioning access, territory, mobility, and cultural continuity as systems designed to endure beyond trends, sectors, and political cycles.
